Energy Management Corporation (EMC) is hiring a Purchasing Clerk for our Salt Lake City office. We are looking for an innovative, extremely detail-oriented, self-motivated, honest and hardworking individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an accounting department, and will be responsible for helping ensure smooth and efficient day to day operations of the department.
Job Summary:
The Purchasing Clerk will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Prepares purchase orders as requested including verifying product availability and delivery time.
· Places orders and reconciles to vendor confirmations.
· Tracks open order status and communicates with internal and external customers.
· Updates purchase orders for received product.
· Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
· Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers; recording entries. · Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
· Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
· Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
· Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
Education and Experience:
· Prior experience in accounts payable and purchasing
· High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred.
· Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred.
